Media analysis assignment

The author’s thesis is that people get their ideas from music groups who own a song. Girl talk used bits of Metallica’s songs and got in trouble because it violated copyright. It shows bias because it only shows the negative side of copyright. The film never shows the good side of copyright. My argument is shown because the movie never shows the other side of copyright.

The examples are thesis and tone. The reason for thesis is that they try to only tell one side. The reason for tone is they try to make it sound right. Thesis does show bias because it does not show the record people having input. The tone is bias because it tries to say copyright is ok.

The film shows bias because it only shows little bits of the copyright people. It does show the people who have been fined by the record companies. They show the people who can’t pay the fines. I think it is bias because the record companies never get to talk and say their side. The future should allow people to use the songs as everyday music, but not make their own songs out of it. If Costco uses a song for a commercial would they be fined if they didn’t pay the artist? The author‘s opinion is that he is showing the public about girl talk and the record companies giving out fines. Copyright is meant to protect the work of artists and authors so that it can’t be used by others as their own. And it keeps people from making money on other ideas
